SHA' PTA' - Marvelous Motivating Monday - Blacks and Vaccines in America
Monday Dec 14, 2020
Monday Dec 14, 2020
This Marvelous Motivating Monday, we celebrate 5 African American Women: Dr. Kizzmekia Corbett (34-year-old and one of the developing scientist for vaccine), Stephanie Elam (CNN Correspondent who participated live in the vaccine trial for Johnson & Johnson), Dawn Baker (Savannah, Georgia Anchor Woman 1st American who took Moderna phase 3 trial in JULY 2020), Dr. Chester (Dr. in NYC administering first vaccine live on MSNBC with Pfizer) and Sandra (nurse taking first vaccine in United State in NYC). This episode is entitled Blacks and Vaccines in American because as we know, and the media keeps mentioning. people of color do not trust medicine. Not just because of the Tuskegee Experiment, but also because of the inequality of medical care. These five women explain why they decided to get involved with the vaccine process and their hope that people of color can trust the new medical community, as well as holding the media accountable for reporting any inequalities between the medical community and African Americans. Covid19 has harmed more people of color than anyone in America. My Wonderful Women Wednesday will focus on Dr. Corbett as she explains in her own words how she hopes to bridge the trust between people of color and the medical community. Friday Dec 11, 2020
Friday Dec 11, 2020
This Fantastic Fellas Friday, we celebrate Pittsburgh Steelers Head Coach Mike Tomlin. Tomlin was hired as the defensive backs coach for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in 2001, where he first learned the Tampa 2 defense that he would use in later coaching jobs. In 2002 and 2005, the Buccaneers led the NFL in total defense (fewest yards allowed per game). During Tomlin's tenure, the defense never ranked worse than sixth overall. When the Buccaneers won Super Bowl XXXVII in January 2003, the team recorded a Super Bowl-record five interceptions, three of which were returned for touchdowns. He was selected by Vikings' head coach Brad Childress to be his defensive coordinator in 2006. After spending 2006 as the Vikings defensive coordinator, Tomlin was selected to interview for the vacant head coaching position with the 2005 Super Bowl Champion Pittsburgh Steelers. With only a year of experience as a defensive coordinator, Tomlin was hired in 2007 to become the third Steelers coach since 1969. Tomlin is the 10th African American head coach in NFL history and the first for the Steelers franchise. When the Steelers defeated the Baltimore Ravens in the 2008 AFC Championship Game, Mike Tomlin became the youngest NFL head coach to lead his team to a Super Bowl. He also became the third African-American to coach a team to the Super Bowl, following Chicago's Lovie Smith and Indianapolis's Tony Dungy, the two opposing coaches in Super Bowl XLI. After two seasons, with a record of 22-10, he was the winningest head coach in Steelers history based on win percentage (68.8%). On January 29, 2009, Tomlin was named the 2008 Motorola NFL Coach of the Year. On February 1, 2009, at age 36, Tomlin became the youngest head coach to win the Super Bowl when the Steelers defeated the Arizona Cardinals in Super Bowl XLIII. He took Steelers to Super Bowl XLV on February 6, 2011 in Dallas in 31-25 loss to Green Bay. Tomlin is always active in the community. He and other Steelers such as Cam Heyward personally feed family during the holidays. In 2019, coach gave out 200 meals for families in the Homewood area. Since many of those people are family and friends of mine, I say THANK YOU COACH TOMLIN! WHAT DO YOU HAVE TO SAY?

SHA' PTA' - Wonderful Women Wednesday - Forbes Top 10 of 100 World's Most Powerful Women
Wednesday Dec 09, 2020
Wednesday Dec 09, 2020
This Wonderful Women Wednesday, we celebrate the top 10 of The World’s 100 Most Powerful Women as named by Forbes. To keep the episode short, I only focused on the Top 10, and read Forbes short bios and give my commentary with each. #1 thru #10 are as follows: Angela Merkel, Christine Lagarde, Kamala Harris, Ursula von der Leyen, Melinda Gates, Mary Barra, Nancy Pelosi, Ana Patricia Botin, Abigail Johnson, and Gail Boudreaux. I also give my comment and opinion on why I feel that Stacey Abrams should have been ranked higher than number 100 (last on the list). She is not only powerful and influential to Georgia, but her calming, logical talks and explanations of events, movements and caring about voter suppression, has lit a fire for voters like never before. If Georgia Democrats win both Senate seats, the Senate power will change and can help President-Elect Biden get things done. America can regain respect around the world and remind people why globally, we are still the Superpower. I hope you enjoy the narratives, which explains what episodes are about, as well as the graphic attached to each episode, which I diligently search for to match each episode. WHAT DO YOU HAVE TO SAY?

SHA' PTA' - Marvelous Motivating Monday - We Celebrate Pfizer & Moderna
Monday Dec 07, 2020
Monday Dec 07, 2020
This Marvelous Motivating Monday, we celebrate Covid-19 vaccine companies Pfizer and Moderna for giving us hope. BRAVO for both companies refusing to go to the White House to be part of the Coronavirus Summit. Neither company seems interested in making this vaccine political, as it should be. As of December 6, 2020, per John Hopkins, there are 14,637,724 cases and 281,628 deaths AND COUNTING! The U.S. could see a "surge superimposed upon that surge we are already in" if Americans fail to wear masks in public and cut down on gatherings, Dr. Anthony Fauci said Sunday. "We’re entering into what’s really a precarious situation," Fauci said on "Meet the Press." The head of the White House Coronavirus Task Force, Dr. Deborah Birx, warned young people who gathered in recent weeks, not to go home for the holidays without wearing a mask, even indoors. I hope you enjoy the narratives, which explains what episodes are about, as well as the graphic attached to each episode, which I diligently search for to match each episode. WHAT DO YOU HAVE TO SAY?

This Fantastic Fellas Friday, we celebrate Georgia Republican Voting System Implementation Manager Gabriel Sterling and Republican Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger. They took a gamble by standing up for the TRUTH. They assured Georgians that ALL votes were counted fairly and accurately. They said RECOUNT show same outcome. Ron & Jim Watkins (Jim owns 8Kun, the website that spawned the QAnon conspiracy theory) put out a video that went viral, which lies about what is being seen during the recount and uses it as evidence of fraud, which was discounted. I hope you enjoy the narratives, which explains what episodes are about, as well as the graphic attached to each episode, which I diligently search for to match each episode. WHAT DO YOU HAVE TO SAY?

SHA' PTA' - Wonderful Women Wednesday - IL Female Legislatures Changing Laws
Wednesday Dec 02, 2020
Wednesday Dec 02, 2020
This Wonderful Women Wednesday, (PART 3 OF 3 Episodes on this subject), we celebrate several women. 1) Four Illinois women legislatures, calling themselves the 4 Marijuana Moms. These ladies, help change legislature in Illinois after the state made marijuana legal for recreational use. By their relentless efforts, they convinced the Governor of Illinois to pardon 11,000 inmates who were convicted for low-level marijuana convictions. 2) Kim Foxx Illinois State’s Attorney and 3) Wanda James owner of Simply Pure in Colorado, who worked for President Obama and she and her husband Scott became the first people of color licensed to sell legal cannabis. NAS AND ERIK PARKER for Directing and Producing BET’s sharp and persuasive documentary “Smoke: Marijuana + Black America” According to the Washington Post’s article it says “it is undaunted by the enormous tasks it sets out for itself, not the least of which is to describe a certain profound link between pot and daily existence. The film is equal parts love story, tragedy, and outrage — a cultural history running parallel to the nation’s systemic and hypocritical racism in more ways than some viewers (and marijuana users) may want to admit. This is why local voting for Judges, DAs and others is very important I hope you enjoy the narratives, which explains what episodes are about, as well as the graphic attached to each episode, which I diligently search for to match each episode.
