Episode #115 This Manipulative Mind-blowing Monday we talk about Manipulation. What is Manipulation? Manipulation is the exercise of harmful influence over others. People who manipulate others attack their mental and emotional sides to get what they want. The manipulator seeks to create an imbalance of power, and take advantage of a victim to get power, control, benefits, and/or privileges at the expense of the victim. They can happen in close or casual relationships but are more common in closely formed relationships. Manipulator sways someone’s emotion to get them to act or feel a certain way. They have common tricks they’ll use to make you feel irrational and more likely to give in to their requests. Here’s a few common examples: Guilt, Complaining, Comparing, Lying, Denying, Ignorance or innocence, Blame, Mind Games.
It can happen in meaning forms including kindness, depending on the intent. Whether manipulation has good or bad intentions, it is still an attempt to undermine your rational thinking. Here are some common traits:
- They know your weaknesses and how to exploit them.
- They use your insecurities against you.
- They convince you to give up something important to you, to make you more dependent on them.
- If they are successful in their manipulation, they will continue to do so until you are able to get out of the situation.
Manipulation of Facts - A manipulator will actively lie to you, make excuses, blame you or strategically share facts about them and withhold other truths. In doing this, they feel they are gaining power over you and gaining intellectual superiority.
Gaslighting - This tactic is used by the manipulator to confuse you and make you question your own reality. The manipulation happens when you confront the abuse or lies, and the manipulator tells you that it never happened.
Passive-Aggression - Chronic manipulators will use this tactic to make you feel guilty and give backhanded compliments. They are doing this to show anger without directly being angry, make you feel confused. WHAT DO YOU HAVE TO SAY? LINKS BELOW FOR: APPLE, GOOGLE, PANDORA, AND SPOTIFY.

Episode #114 - This Fantastic Fellas Friday- We talk about Senator Richard Blumenthal and the legislature his is sponsoring for Women’s Rights. Who is Senator Blumenthal? He was born in Brooklyn, New York and is an American lawyer and politician serving as the senior United States Senator from Connecticut, a seat he has held since 2011. A member of the Democratic Party, he is one of the wealthiest members of the Senate, with a net worth over $100 million. He served as Attorney General of Connecticut from 1991 to 2011. We specifically talk about his introduction of the Women’s Health Protection Act and the re-introduction of it. WOMEN'S HEALTH PROTECTION ACT -
Sen. Blumenthal, Richard [D-CT] (Introduced 06/08/2021)
The Women's Health Protection Act would protect a woman's right to safe and legal abortion by stopping restrictive regulations and laws--such as those in place in states including Texas and Wisconsin--intended to curtail reproductive health services for women. This legislation would prohibit laws that impose burdensome requirements on access to reproductive health services such as requiring doctors to perform tests and procedures that doctors have deemed unnecessary or preventing doctors from prescribing and dispensing medication as is medically appropriate. Other examples of laws that make it more difficult for a woman to access an abortion include restrictions on medical training for future abortion providers, requirements concerning the physical layout of clinics where abortions are performed and forced waiting periods for patients. He and other legislatures are sponsoring it AGAIN on a federal level. Listen to what they are saying. WHAT DO YOU HAVE TO SAY? LINKS BELOW FOR: APPLE, GOOGLE, PANDORA, AND SPOTIFY.

SHA‘ PTA‘ - Wonderful Women Wednesday - Elizabeth MacDonough Senate Parliamentarian
Wednesday Sep 22, 2021
Wednesday Sep 22, 2021
Episode #113 – On this Wonderful Women Wednesday we talk about Senate Parliamentarian Elizabeth MacDonough and how she can affect immigration reform and DACA. Who is Elizabeth MacDonough? In 2015, Elizabeth highlighted budget rules that made it more difficult for Senate Republicans to repeal the Affordable Care Act, former President Barack Obama's signature health care policy. Democrats reported that on July 21, 2017, the Senate Parliamentarian ruled that a number of provisions of the Republican Better Care Reconciliation Act (BCRA) violate the Byrd Rule, and thus cannot be passed by the Senate using the reconciliation act procedure through which Congress has been trying to repeal the Affordable Care Act (ACA). In February 2021, she ruled against the $15 minimum wage in President Biden proposed Covid-19 relief package being included per the Byrd Rule under budget reconciliation. In April,2021, she ruled that Democrats can pass spending legislature with a simple majority using a procedure reserved for budget reconciliation, but as we know, Kristen and Joe Arizona and West Virginia Senators, won’t agree on anything. Unlike the Republicans who stick together NO MATTER WHAT, these Democrats refuse to help the country out. So now with this set-back how does his affect DACA. Let’s talk about what DACAA is. Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) is a United States immigration policy that allows some individuals with unlawful presence in the United States after being brought to the country as children to receive a renewable two-year period of deferred action from deportation and become eligible for a work permit in the U.S. WHAT DO YOU HAVE TO SAY? SHA‘ PTA‘ - Men Meddling Monday - Texas Abortion Law
Monday Sep 20, 2021
Monday Sep 20, 2021
Episode #112 This Men Meddling Monday references the Texas State Senate, which consists of 67% men and less than 35% women. Meddling men passing laws that affects a woman’s body. Earlier this year, Texas Governor Greg Abbott signed into law Senate Bill 8, which took effect on Sept. 1, 2021. The law outlaw’s abortion around six weeks of gestation, even in cases of rape and incest. The ACLU of Texas and partners are currently in the process of legally challenging this unconstitutional law. The Due Process Clause of the Fourteenth Amendment to the U.S. Constitution provides a fundamental "right to privacy" that protects a pregnant woman's liberty to choose whether or not to have an abortion. Roe v. Wade, 410 U.S. 113 (1973), was a landmark decision of the U.S. Supreme Court in which the Court ruled that the Constitution of the United States protects a pregnant woman's liberty to choose to have an abortion without excessive government restriction. It struck down many U.S. federal and state abortion laws, and prompted an ongoing national debate in the United States about whether and to what extent abortion should be legal, who should decide the legality of abortion, what methods the Supreme Court should use in constitutional adjudication, and what the role of religious and moral views in the political sphere should be. Roe v. Wade reshaped American politics, dividing much of the United States into abortion rights and anti-abortion movements, while activating grassroots movements on both sides. In Attorney General Garland’s press conference, he says TEXAS GIVE $10,000 BOUNTY HUNTER FEES FOR THOSE TURNING YOU IN. WHAT DO YOU HAVE TO SAY? LINKS BELOW FOR: APPLE, GOOGLE, PANDORA, AND SPOTIFY.

According to National Alliance on Mental Illness (“NAMI”) mental illness is a condition that starts young. 50% of mental health conditions begin by age 14 and 75% by age 24. The American Hospital Association (“AHA”) is the national organization that represents and serves all types of hospitals, health care networks, and their patients and communities. Nearly 5,000 hospitals, health care systems, networks, other providers of care and 43,000 individual members come together to form the AHA. Imagine how this Pandemic is affecting these workers mental health. We just had the 20th Anniversary of 9/11 and many victims, and their families are dealing with mental health issues 20 years later. As a fan of the 19-year-old singing superstar Billie Eilish, I found a song regarding mental illness she did in 2011 at the age of 14 on YouTube called Six Feet Under. I also found a video dated May 4, 2020, by a young lady named Odra Chapman and the title of the video says Covid-19 Pandemic Mental Health Awareness Song Acoustic Title is - Win or Lose.
