Showing how politics plays a part in our daily lives and holding politicians accountable to represent the people who elected them . Making corporations aware that we are watching and reporting them (with evidence) for any consumer inequities of any kind. Using Subject Matter Experts (”SME”) to give in-depth details of the subject being discussed. With people needing laughter, we’re also having fun celebrating and uplifting people with positive adjustive episode categories such as:
in 2020 and 2021 Marvelous Motivating Mondays, Wonderful Women Wednesdays, and also a special Fantastic Fellas Friday celebrating men and asking our men to contribute their ideas, suggestions and perspective. In 2022 we’re focusing on Wednesday episodes celebrating difference makers and still holding politicians and corporations accountable. Episode #112 This Men Meddling Monday references the Texas State Senate, which consists of 67% men and less than 35% women. Meddling men passing laws that affects a woman’s body. Earlier this year, Texas Governor Greg Abbott signed into law Senate Bill 8, which took effect on Sept. 1, 2021. The law outlaw’s abortion around six weeks of gestation, even in cases of rape and incest. The ACLU of Texas and partners are currently in the process of legally challenging this unconstitutional law. The Due Process Clause of the Fourteenth Amendment to the U.S. Constitution provides a fundamental "right to privacy" that protects a pregnant woman's liberty to choose whether or not to have an abortion. Roe v. Wade, 410 U.S. 113 (1973), was a landmark decision of the U.S. Supreme Court in which the Court ruled that the Constitution of the United States protects a pregnant woman's liberty to choose to have an abortion without excessive government restriction. It struck down many U.S. federal and state abortion laws, and prompted an ongoing national debate in the United States about whether and to what extent abortion should be legal, who should decide the legality of abortion, what methods the Supreme Court should use in constitutional adjudication, and what the role of religious and moral views in the political sphere should be. Roe v. Wade reshaped American politics, dividing much of the United States into abortion rights and anti-abortion movements, while activating grassroots movements on both sides. Episode #111 - This Fantastic Fellas Friday- We talk about and celebrate Olympian swimmer Caeleb Dressel. Caeleb holds the American records in 50-meter and 100-meter freestyle and in 50-meter and 100-meter butterfly (all long course). He also holds the short course records in 50-yard and 100-yard freestyle events, the 100-yard butterfly, and the 200-yard individual medley, and formerly in the 100-yard breaststroke. At the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, Caeleb won five gold medals, making him the fifth American in history to win that many in a single Olympics in the past 50 years. Mark Spitz, Michael Phelps, Eric Heiden, and Matt Biondi are the other four. He also became the first swimmer in history to win gold in the 50-meter freestyle, the 100 free and the 100-meter butterfly at the same Olympics. Caeleb joined Michael Phelps and Mark Spitz as male swimmers to win three individual gold medals in the same Olympics. He won his first three golds in the 100 free, men's 4x100 free relay and 100 butterfly, setting a world record in the latter. The 24-year-old has won seven medals, all gold, over two Olympics.. Episode #110 – On this Wonderful Women Wednesday, we celebrate Olympic Champion Sunisa Lee. Known as Suni, she was born in St. Paul, MN. She was a high school senior while participating in the 2021 Olympics in Tokyo. At one point while preparing for the Olympics she wanted to quit during quarantine – Team USA is glad she didn’t. She is proudly part of the Hmong American community, and they are very proud of her. Now, she is taking on two more challenges and opportunities. She’ s a freshman at Auburn University and also will be on the 30th Season of Dancing with the Stars. With all of her endeavors, she’s quoted as saying “It's definitely going to be very different, but I know that it's not going to be as difficult as anything I did in the Olympics or leading up to the Olympics. So, I know that I'm good in that area, but I think it's more mental because I'm not a very good dancer. So, I'm excited to see how this plays out and I'm really excited to find out who my partner is and just how the whole thing will go. I think it'll be very fun.” WHAT DO YOU HAVE TO SAY? Episode #109 This Marvelous Motivating Monday, we’re calling it Mental Meditation Monday, as we do another episode on Mental Health. According to National Alliance on Mental Illness (“NAMI”) mental illness is a condition that starts young. 50% of mental health conditions begin by age 14 and 75% by age 24. The American Hospital Association (“AHA”) is the national organization that represents and serves all types of hospitals, health care networks, and their patients and communities. Nearly 5,000 hospitals, health care systems, networks, other providers of care and 43,000 individual members come together to form the AHA. Imagine how this Pandemic is affecting these workers mental health. We just had the 20th Anniversary of 9/11 and many victims, and their families are dealing with mental health issues 20 years later. As a fan of the 19-year-old singing superstar Billie Eilish, I found a song regarding mental illness she did in 2011 at the age of 14 on YouTube called Six Feet Under. I also found a video dated May 4, 2020, by a young lady named Odra Chapman and the title of the video says Covid-19 Pandemic Mental Health Awareness Song Acoustic Title is - Win or Lose. In 1863 during American Civil War, President Abraham Lincoln issued the Emancipation Proclamation, which ended slavery. However, it took TEXAS two years later, when Union soldiers arrived in Galveston, Texas on June 19, 1865, to announce slavery was abolished. When go on to discuss evolving to challenge ourselves. Evolve is defined as develop gradually, especially from a simple to a more complex form. Challenge is defined as an objection or query as to the truth of something, often with an implicit demand for proof. Unfortunately, this 2021 Memorial Day also is the 100 Year Anniversary in America of the Burning of Greenwood (outside of Tulsa) Oklahoma known as Black Wall Street on May 31 and June 1, 1921. Also called the Tulsa Race Massacre, is said to be one of the single worst incident(s) of racial violence in American history. Destroying more than 35 square blocks of the district at the time the wealthiest Black community in America. Episode #106 - This Fantastic Fellas Friday- We talk about and celebrate Trae Tha Truth. We play audio from his newly released powerful video/song entitled “Protect Our Women.” Born Frazier Othel Thompson III - Trae Tha Truth (or simply Trae), is an American rapper, songwriter, record executive and activist from Houston, Texas. Embarking on a musical career in 1998, he soon established himself as a prominent member of the Texas hip hop scene. In 2008, Trae Tha Truth was awarded by the Mayor of Houston, Bill White, and Council Member Peter Brown with his own day, Trae Day, in honor of his outstanding work within the community. This is the first time the honor has been extended to a rap artist. Trae Day is celebrated every year on July 22. On May 23, 2021, Houston’s own, Mrs. Tina Knowles Lawson (Beyonce’s mother) presents him with the Change Maker Award at the Billboard Music Awards. The award, according to Billboard, pays tribute to “the artist or group that speaks truth to power through their music, celebrity, and community. They are socially conscious, politically aware, active in their community and charitable with time, money and/or influence to improve the lives of others.” During Hurricane Harvey in September of 2017 Trae and his friends, dubbed the "Relief Gang", spent a full day driving trucks and SUVs around the Houston area helping get residents to safety. They worked in Beaumont, Winnie, Kingwood, and Cleveland Texas - all areas where flooding was severe. In October of 2017 Trae hosted a fundraiser for a Houston area grandma attacked and carjacked at a gas station. In late 2020, Trae and his non-profit organization Relief Gang handed out clothing including jackets and face masks for the homeless. Currently he is Vice President of TI’s Grand Hustle Gang, appointed in 2017. He still calls for justice for Breonna Taylor! WHAT DO YOU HAVE TO SAY? Episode #104 – Marvelous Motivating Monday, we celebrate Westlake High School (“WHS”) – whose motto is: A Legacy of Excellence. This Championship WHS out of Atlanta, Georgia is in the Fulton County School system. Westlake High School is a comprehensive public high notable for its football program. In 2005, the school had six graduates on NFL rosters, more than any high school in the nation at the time. Since 2005, other players went into the NFL like, QB Cam Newton, CB Adam “Cadillac” Jones, Linebacker Keith Allen, My daughter Jasmine Williams was in the first graduating class from the newly built state-of- the-art school in Westlake Class of 2009. Now in 2021, the ladies take the championship rings to a new level.

Another state title for Westlake: They have won four (4) consecutive championship titles. Westlake’s girl basketball team is a back-to-back 6A state champion after winning the 6A-Division. Now 2021 - Westlake lady basketball players walk off the court in celebration of their latest state title, a 64-46 victory over Carrollton in the 6A championship game in Macon. Westlake girls win GEICO National Championship. Westlake won its previous three championships in Class 7A before moving down in a reclassification. Raven Johnson named 2021 Naismith Girls HS Basketball Player of the Year. Westlake finishes its season a perfect 22-0 after navigating a GEICO Nationals field that combined to go 75-0 during the regular season. Westlake is also the first Georgia high school to ever win the event.

Episode #103 – Fantastic Fellas Friday- we talk about Black Farmers and how banks are protesting President Biden’s debt relief bill for black farmers. Celebrating how Black Farmer’s Association President John Boyd, Jr. is fighting back. John Wesley Boyd Jr. is a Bakersville, Virginia farmer, civil rights activist and the founder of the National Black Farmers Association (NBFA). He owns and operates a 300-acre farm where he grows soybean, corn and wheat and currently raises a hundred head of beef cattle. For 14 years Boyd was a chicken farmer in a Perdue Farms breeder program. He was also a tobacco farmer for many years. REVERSE DISCRIMINATION TO HELP BLACK FARMERS? There are 3.4 million farmers in the US and just 1.3% are Black, according to the USDA. That is a precipitous decline from nearly 1 million Black farmers in the 1920s. Two different lawsuits now challenge a USDA loan forgiveness program for farmers of color, including Black farmers, contained within in the COVID relief package advanced in the initial days of the Biden administration and Democrat-controlled Congress. While USDA and Congressional authors defend the program, the lawsuits claim it creates reverse discrimination. Three of the biggest US banking groups want the US Department of Agriculture to reconsider the terms of billions of dollars in planned debt relief for minority farmers, claiming it will cut into banks' profits -- and warn they may have to cut those same farmers off from future loans. President Joe Biden's $1.9 trillion Covid relief package passed in March includes $4 billion to help pay off farm loans for socially disadvantaged farmers and ranchers -- a group that includes Black and other minority farmers, who have long faced discrimination from lenders and the USDA. The payments will cover up to 120% of outstanding debt for each farmer or rancher, according to the USDA, which is what the banks are made about.
